Nuffnang movie contest - Alice in Wonderland,

Hey everyone!

As you know, Alice in Wonderland is coming out in theatres soon! Yes I'm so excited and I really want to watch it!

Oh c'mon, it's directed by Tim Burton and even JOHNNY DEPP is acting in it!!!!!!!

Ohmygosh, speaking of Johnny Depp, my favourite character in the movie would have to be,

THE MAD HATTER!!!

(duh)

Reason 1: He's potrayed by Johnny Depp.

Reason 2: This adaptation of The Mad Hatter is extremely unique because Johnny Depp actually tried to find a grounding to the character, something that you feel, as opposed to just being mad. In a lot of versions it’s a very one-note kind of character and you know his goal was to try and bring out a human side to the strangeness of the character.

Reason 3: The Mad Hatter's hair is orange. 'Why?' you may ask. This is actually an allusion to the mercury poisoning suffered by many hatters who used mercury to cure felt.

Reason 4: The Mad Hatter doesn't just wear his heart on his sleeve, he's like 'a mood ring' because his ever-changing moods are quite literally reflected in his face and attire.
